Due to the winds and the unsettled bay conditions, I do not have a fishing report today or any reports from anyone else. However, everyone should take this break from fishing to check all there equipment and repair or replace as necessary. Check out your safety equipment, recharge your vhf radios and boat batteries, check your ropes and dock lines etc. then oil up your fishing reels and replace lines and reorganize the tackle box. cause when this weather lets up and the water straightens itself out....the fishing is gonna get HOT!!! there seems to have been a lot more fish being caught so for this year as compared to last at this point in time. you need to be ready and safe while on the water. Pay attention to warnings on your weather radios. The spring time fishing patters are already here. that means Nighthawk Bay for reds, The Boat Hole and ICW were full of fish before this weather. Pita Island is good until the water gets too hot. everything from the Pure Oil Channel and south will be excellent for trout if you fish the edges of the green water. Further down, the grass lines in the Meadows and Yarborough for reds ,trout and flounder. also if you can get there, the 9 mile hole should be good til end of June depending on water temp.and of course anywhere that begins with the word Baffin just seems to be ..well you know GREAT..so get ready and be ready...Good Luck to All.
p.s. i also will be posting my reports on Facebook as well..Captd Jones |

good ... report. Definitely good stuff to look at for sure. Winds have been brutal this week and if you have to get out in those sort of conditions, or if you get caught out in those conditions... it's the above care and safety that are going to see you through it. Make sure your gear is top notch, just like you said. Props.

How long does it typically take for the surf to clear up after rains like this? Looked like a brown mess out there today _________________ Be Good and Good Luck |
