Stingrays, hardheads, toadfish...

Why do people throw them on shore to die. You're not putting a dent in their population. You're just making, otherwise scenic, fishing spots less enjoyable with the aroma of rotting fish and sight of carcasses.

I never understod that with catfish. You carefully remove them from the hook so you wont get stuck...just to toss them on the ground so someone else will step on it? Until it happens to you I suppose.

Agreed. Same as killing all gar and in freshwater, using the excuse that "they eat game fish". Gar have been around longer than bass, crappie and all other sunfish, yet the latter have all done just fine before people started "helping" them! Rolling Eyes

I canoed a river in Ark, might have been the Caddo, it was a small stream, but it was full of gar. You could throw a little beetle spin into a pool and five or six of them would take after it. Pretty cool. Like water wolves.

The only time I throw fish on the beach is for my dog to eat. He likes to eat fish. Goes for the gills first. Loves whiting. Lab with a little pit in him.

Yeah I can never do it. I put everything back in the water unless I'm going to eat it. My Dad got hit by a stingray when I was young and remember the pain he went through but that doesn't make me want to stab a stingray and leave it to die.

You haven't been given an answer to your question, so here you go: deep rooted ignorance.

Pigs who have no regard for our natural resources. Their parents were pigs who taught them how to be pigs. They are the same people's trash that is picked up by the good citizens of the Coastal Bend. Unfortunately, those good citizens are outnumbered by those pigs. Ask me how I really feel...

Hardhead spines in a tire are no fun. Especially when you are forty miles down the beach.
