My best: Kayak which freed me from the shores, mirrorlure mr27 now my favorite lure, and a $30 fly rod which got me into fly fishing.
My worst: An actual tackle box. I like plano boxes in a backpack now.

This ought to be a good thread.

Best: pier cart. Made getting stuff down the piers and jetties so much easier. Made fishing with the wife less work and more fishing(she said I was immediately less grumpy lol). I don't fish piers much anymore but when I do it's still worth every penny. Another would be the AVET reels. More importantly the 2 speed ones for making those big surf weights break free with ease. And another to mention would be vehicle rod holders. No more tangled gear sliding around the back of the truck. Deep freeze gets an honorable mention.I could keep this list going haha.

Worst: this list will be lots harder because I usually don't buy much on impulse and think about it for a while before I dive in. I would say in general, cheap equipment. Not that it doesn't work or have a purpose, just doesn't seem to last.

Really looking forward to seeing other answers.

Best: So Far I'd have to say crappie hooks and a new Shakespeare combo pole on the cheap! When the bite is slow, throw on them little hooks and everyone has fun catching the pinfish and croakers.

Worst: GX2 combo. Worst way to spend $60. Terrible reel, but a decent rod. Reel didn't last two fishing trips when my daughters cheapo $12 spinning combo takes a beating and cranks smooth still! That's with plenty of soaking in saltwater! And I just can't use a one piece rod because the darn thing don't fit in the car, good fast action though.

Best: Tent cot, deep freeze, 2 speed reels, an upgraded kayak from my F&S Eagle Talon and a 96 suburban to beat the hell out of rather than my pickup.

worst: a used 96 suburban from some redneck in San Antonio who found every loop hole to work on it, costing me way too much to keep up with it.

Had the 130 on a Majek 20V. Never ran well even after tune-ups, fouled like mad, not enough punch as it is really just an overgrown 115, poor fuel economy. In reality, it just wasn't the right motor for that hull. Replaced it with a 4-stroke 150 and it is now one of the most awesome boats I've owned. Incredible hole shot and miraculous fuel economy. Not all 130's may be bad but that one was. On the other hand, I know several people that were very happy with a 115 on their 20V. But give me the 4 banger any day!
