Boy has it been a good long while since I've posted here! The ducks had my attention all season long and my god did I have the best season so far! Gadwalls, Pintails, Wigeons Galore! Scouting just before the season really paid off for me. After my first season along the coast with just Redheads and a wigeon to show I decided to expand my horizon and travel south to find the birds. With a better variety in species and a quicker drive, I found the "brackish water" and "estuaries" I hear so much about that hold everything from Teal to even Snow geese! To keep the long story short, scout, scout, scout!
Anyways, back on the fins side of things, my growing love for surf fishing is back once again in my heart. Now a quick question; Does anyone on here do any light tackle surf fishing? If so what would be a proper setup for it? I'm just talking rod and reel here. I may need to replace my reel from last year(curse you saltwater!!!) And am looking for specifically light tackle oriented gear. Nothing over 30 bucks as I am a cheapo and need to spend my money on snacks and gas for our family outings to the beach. |

| Get the biggest spinning reel you can with the most bearings respool it with at least 30 pound braided line put it on the tallest rod you can get your hands on use metal double drop leaders or red fish rig and cast away as far as you can. Good luck |
