Tues we headed of of Charlies and made the drive to one of the reefs that have been holding consistent catches of trout. When slowing down to ease into the area the shrimp where scattering on each side of the boat and the calm water was obviously churned up from activity. The birds were working the area as well. I have been the lucky one of the group lately so I headed north on the reef and let my buddies wade up to the sweet spot. I snag on an oyster clump and while tying on a new jig head I watch my buddie limit out on his first six casts and as my other buddy strings his fourth trout I make my way to their spot and within 15 casts of so I'm the last to catch my five.
We don't target reds much so we start our journey to try for reds and hit up a small back lake on south shoreline across from SA Bay and after walking into and out in front of the mouth of the back lake the trout where hitting the lure almost every cast(one of the few times you thought dang not another trout) finally one red was caught and we did a little exploring to mark some new waypoints and called it an early day. This has been by far the best Oct-Nov I have seen in my ten years of fishing. Hopefully the river does not mess up the bay too much as I plan on taking a couple new fishing buddies and want to share the fun!
