Tyler, I know this is OT, but wanted to make sure as many folks as possible saw it. Feel free to move it.

We found a Sulcata Tortoise wandering around Yorktown near Wagner Lee 2 days ago. Looking for the owner. We've posted it on FB, lost pet hotlines, and Craigslist Lost and Found. Please share with anyone you know who keeps a big tortoise as a pet. Thanks.
Aaron

My neighbor actually called me to tell me he thought mine got out the other day. We have (3). Said it was down by the fire station and 2 ladies were trying to move it off the road. I jumped in my truck and went to go look for it but it was gone when I got there. Got back home and did some looking around and realized all (3) of ours were here. I guess I'm not the only one with Sulcata's. If nobody claims it and you decide you want to find a place for it we have the room for another.

Thanks for the offer. I'll let you know what we decide. This new guy is very aggressive with other Sulcatas so I'm not sure I'll be able to keep him unless he learns to get along.

I treat those rascals all of the time, great animals, and so far, I have never run into an agressive one. We really enjoy them at the clinic, but they can grow large. The biggest we have right now is over 80 pounds and growing. One lady has a pair, around 40 and 50 pounds respectively, and growing.

This one will need a good home. They are not your average pet.

I agree not your average pet but we really enjoy them. Our largest is about 120lbs and the other 2 are probably in the 40lb range I would guess. The 2 smaller ones are 7 and 8 years old and I do not know the age of the big male. What people don't always understand is that these pets will outlive their owners and start out the size of golf balls but grow up rather quickly. We are on a little over an acre so these guys have plenty off room to roam, but surprisingly the little male does try to challenge the large male from time to time. It usually ends when the larger male flips the smaller one on his back to show him who is boss and then rights him. After that the smaller one usually runs off to find something else to do.
