Not much in the way to report that everyone doesn't know.

Got to PINS and turned around after a few miles. Driving rough. Tide way high. Weeds really thick.

Hit Bob Hall early on, and nothing happening there. Couldn't give away the bait. Weeds pretty thick in the water there. Decided to hope on down the road. Went to Packery Channel Park and had a look around. Most of the "beach" front that is there facing the laguna and most of the area back there was well underwater. Same with Packery Flats and Wilson's cut areas. The wife was not thrilled with the idea of me driving through water to get where I wanted to fish, so we moved on to Packery.

Tried the Noth packery Jetty to give it a go, as the wave were breaking over the South Jetty the whole way down.

Weed, weed and more weed. Choclate milk colored water. The sargassum wouldn't been so bad on its own, but that slimy green grass was everywhere, and is nearly impossible to pull of your line entirely.

Tiffany did manage a nice just undersize puppy drum, and I managed a very small colorful snapper. Another guy (I am bad with name's so I don't remember it) and his son from SA did manage a small whiting. He put the conditions right when they headed in as "taking a beating." He mentioned he checked this sight but hadn't ever posted anything up yet. I want to just say, good job on getting your son out on the water and fishing! Very Happy

Well wish I could posted better results and better condition info. Just gonna have to wait out the conditions. Its gonna get better, cause it can't get much worse! Laughing

FYI - when we got to the NPJ, there were two gentlemen walking off with some really nice specks caught freelining pin perch in the weeds.

Thanks for the report. Wonder if one could get those surf trout to take some artifical lovin.

One of my favorite ways to catch big surf trout is w/ topwaters when the grass is bad. Any break in the grass, no matter how small is worth throwing into. The trout use the sargarssum on the beach much like they use the grass in the bay. It makes a great place to ambush prey. Give it a go. I got two trout in an hour just south of BHP a few weeks ago on topwaters between flotillas of sargassum.

Will do. Always like to hit the surf with the wife and kids. There is plenty for them to do while I fish. May give it a go thurs or fri. Be in a white crew cab f150. Thanks

I found the same conditions on Mustang, and opted to fish the ship channel side of Port A south jetty, ended up with a 39" bullred.
