First of all a big thank you to all firefighters everywhere! You guys are truly everyday heroes. Also thank you to the tournament volunteers. To the report, started out Saturday with a group of 3 from Tilden Tx, and 1 from Keystone Colorado on the 25 Contender. One Angler had fished a tournament before the others had limited offshore experience. We were met Saturday morning with less than favorable conditions. Beat ourselves up trying to get to Tarpon rig to catch bait. It was way to rough so we took a hard left and ran up the beach. Faced several inshore rigs and wrecks and found some quality Snappers and a nice Kingfish. We looked for some shrimboats on anchor but 80% were running all day long. The boats that were anchored up to the north didn't have many fish on them. ( I heard very different reports about shrimp boats to the south and East).

Started out Sunday a little late. Ran up to the north and kingfished in about 110'. Caught some really nice fish including the 2nd place King and First place Barracuda. Ran back into state waters and caught some really nice snapper on some wrecks. Not a lot of fish but the ones we caught were all very solid fish including a 11.8lb second place snapper. The trick with those inshore fish is scale down your tackle and use quality live bait. Ran to the beach and hit some pipes found a 45.2lb ling, which I would have bet was a winner in most any tournaments, but it ended up taking second place. Congrats to the young man that caught the 49lb winning ling nice fish sorry I forgot your name but congrats.

Ended up with 4 trophys in the offshore division and a boat full of happy customers! Thank you again to firefighters everywhere. I defiantly plan on donating something for the raffle next year to show my appreciation. Be safe out there folks.
