Its summer time again and the urge to fish is stronger than ever.
I just bought a new Mako Pro 17 Skif from Waypoint and am hot to trot to get it out on the water.
Usually fish the upper LM and sometimes Packery.
Been south of Bird Island Basin and into Baffin Bay a bit but that is a long trip and the hot Texas sun wears on me fast.
This boat will soon have a Bimini Top to provide some relief from the sun.
Any tips on where to try this weekend? _________________ Willee 361-563-1303

How much did you pay for it? My dad and I have been looking at getting one of those Mako pro skiffs. We've been debating it for quite some time as it seems to be one of the only new boats thats in our price range.

Congrats on the new boat! I was at waypoint measuring boats the same day you were.

ok, my O.C.D. was kicking in and I thought I was losing my mind there for a bit....
you got a "MAKO", not a "MACO".....
I had to look it up just to be sure.....
so, yeah, then I remembered that MAKO bough Pro-skiff from ??? (this is a test btw)...
good boats, congrats to being on the water....always wave to everyone, and lend aid when needed....never drive by anyone stranded and not at least ask....

| I had an early 1970's Mako 15. Really tough boat. I had a few high speed oyster reef collisions over in the Rockport, and it kept on truckin with a few minor fiberglass repairs. Paid $1,500 for it. Used it for 10 years and sold it for $1,650..... |
