Sometime the last 3-4 days came into my gated yard and helped themselves to my white Yeti 120, my tan Yeti 75 and my wifes white Yeti roadie. They were sitting under my carport along with lots of other valuable stuff. Our gate is always locked when gone but when home we normally dont lock it. Our perimeter fence is a 6' hurrican fence. We've never had a problem here but it happend. I have made a police report and have started spreading the word. I will offer a $100 reward per cooler found. I know its not much but its something. The 75 and the roadie have texasbowhunter stickers on them.

I cant stand a damn theif!!! Anyones help is appreciated. As many eyes and ears out there will help.

Thanks,

Ray

I heard if you register your yeti they will give you credit towards a new one with a police report.

An unreal amount, APPD has Yeti's, Generators, Lawn Mowers, and other preferred targets of thieves that they've equipped with GPS trackers and they set up sting operations weekly as near as I can tell and they always get takers that can't pass up the bait. Problem is the value of most of these items do not reach felony level so they get a slap on the wrist and are right back out on the streets stealing for their next "hit". Rockport has those same low level meth junkies that drive around all night looking for targets of opportunity (weekenders that don't know any better) but they also have some professional thief's, someone has boated into the Key Allegro via Little Bay several times and hit the blue water boats tied up behind the houses there. They are getting 10's of thousands of dollar's a night in some cases and a lot of the time the owners have no idea they've been hit till they show up to go fishing and see the damage and missing equipment. Nearly every guide in RP has a story of something getting stolen off their boat while sitting in their driveway, I'm talking 100's of Yeti's in the last several years, they'll also target power poles, props, trolling motors, basically anything not locked down. I know several guides that have had to start storing their boats in off property boat storage due to the amount of times they were hit in their own driveway. Rockport Pilot newspaper must be in the pocket of the Chamber of Commerce because they hardly ever report any of this unless it's way too big to ignore like when one of the local JP's son was popped for the above offenses and even then it wasn't until the third time he was arrested and another news publication called them out did they print the story.

The Aransas Pass Police Department has a 24 hour activity blotter that is open to the public. Subscribers receive an email with the file that you can download and view. Nice app. Also, I have been impressed with our department here. They seem very transparent and have answered questions quickly, politely, and professionally. I once called to have somebody removed from my property. Their response was timely, and the officers were very helpful. As far as thefts at my home, so far I have none to report. I have been at this residence for four years. I do have a large dog fenced in the back where the boat and stuff is located, and I'm sure that helps.
Hope you get your coolers back. I thought someone stole my lawnmower the other day, and it freaked me out. I was pissed at the dog too for letting it happen. Then I saw it beside the boat where I had left it when it ran out of gas.

It has always been extremely disturbing to me, such that I cannot describe politely, that there are woefully too many in our society who, on the one hand, obviously believe it to be perfectly acceptable to rob other people, yet, on the other hand, become incensed when they are discovered and called-out for what they really are.

I find it equally disgusting when someone's water heater explodes and they list all of their "friend's belongings" on the insurance claim, and then go to Church on Sunday.

They all should thank their lucky stars that I am not the Supreme Ruler of this country...

It is not the value of the cooler, it is the contempt, that I have complete contempt for. When someone steals your stuff, they are spitting in your face as if to say, "you can't do nothing about it."

Not been hit myself, but the truck has been scouted a few times esp on the beach. I leave nothing behind but that won't save the window glass when they go looking.

I'm going to start launching off the NAS ramp and motoring out from there. I've returned to marker 37 or Clems and seen too many broken windows.

You guys with pickups, lock your tailgate too. They get swiped a lot.
