Easy trout at mustang island in the am. All 20+ inches. Now if you love Atlantic sharpnose shark Port A jetties are the place for you. If you are using live mullet in the channel side you cannot avoid them. Wife and I got tired of catching them. Left at 4pm and they were still biting

I just got back from fishing in the surf at marker 100. Started out about 4pm and threw spoons and soft plastics, and got nary a decent bite. Rigged up with fish bites and caught a good suppers worth of whiting to fry up. I had a suspicion that the trout bite came early, or I just was not where the fish were. No small bait visible in the water, only horse mullet.

As we were leaving mustang island (bout noon)a few more people showed up and we're catching trout on top dogs. So I'm sure the fish will be here for a while.

I was at the 94 around 3pm. Whiting and bonnet heads, enough to fill a bucket. Nothing touched cut whiting or mullet. Didn't think to try for trout so late in the day. Doh!

I managed 8 trout from 7 pm to 8:30 SBH last night. No big ones but big enough for the cooler.
