It might be worth a shot at Packery.

If you go please give a report win lose or draw. I'm actually more curious whether the recent high tides and big rains have caused "packery pond" to form along the north jetty, making parking a nightmare.

Yes. Draining now, the County cut some breaks in the sand to allow it to run off, but the "lake" is still there and it's soft. Drivable and parkable, but soft.

Fished Packery Tuesday and caught a flounder on the channel side. The surf side looked like a washing machine with lots of bay grass (strange).

The water was an 8 out of ten in the channel.....until the tide changed and the surf water cam in. Even then, it was not bad at all, and neither was the surf. Got a bunch of the best live shrimp I've had all year and almost couldn't give one away. A few gnawed off shrimp eyes and legs from the piggies was my only action. The fish have to eat sometime......

Lake Packery was drained, and as someone else said, it was quite driveable.
