| I have a buddy that I can buy one from. Any thoughts or opinions? Is the money better spent on a Penn 6/0? Price would fair market value on the Daiwa, not a smoking hot deal. |

I've caught many fish on sealines. Never owned a 600h but it'll be perfect for sharks up to 7 feet or so if you spool it with straight 50 lb mono (I recommend sufix tritanium if you can find it) or back it with braid and top it with 80 lb mono. _________________ "I never had an Easter, but I've always had a bunch of speakers" - Beardo |

| I have a daiwa Seagate, which is basically the newer model. And I can't complain about a thing. Actually, I feel like the sealines we sell at the shop seem thicker and more durable. I've have heard nothing but great reviews on both reels. |

Sealines are nice and they will catch fish. I have a few myself (900s, 30Hs, 50H, 40HSD, 50HSD). I fish 900s because they hold more line than a 9/0. It's also nice that the frame and side plates are aluminum.
Most people, myself included, think that the drags on the sealine are not as smooth as a penn. You can change that with drag washers if you want.
I have not owned a Daiwa 600 but the only other con I have heard is that they sit higher off the rod than a 6/0 which makes them a little tougher or more awkward to cast. Don't know if this is true, just what I have heard. When I buy a 6/0 sized reel I stick with the Penn Wide 6/0 and the Daiwa is not available in a wide that I know of. |
