Took the wife and kids down again-- only to be met by epic weed and 25mph winds. With the whole family along, it was hard to be mobile...so we camped with the trailer at around 18 with some good structure (but, when the sun came up, PILES of old weed in the surf). On Saturday, it looked for a time that the ESE winds and the big tides were doing there thing and I actually managed to keep a long rod in the water for about an hour...I was rewarded with one whiting. The kids got a kick out of it, but I had to live with the embarrassment of posing with my kids for the photo op of my "trophy."
The drive down was interesting, with some really soft stuff around 9mm. Not that it was impassable, I was just surprised to see that kind of driving that close in.
All in all, it was a great trip with the family. The kids had a blast even with the weed in the surf, and I was able to enjoy the family time. We boogied off the beach by 8 a.m. Sunday to miss the rain.
Another trip in the books...I'd post my pic, but would never be able to live it down... _________________ Fish ON! |

Thanks for the report,Did you ever fish with a egg wieght sinker set up,It
will give you more time for your line to stay in the water and catch that
fish under those conditions. Need to plan a trip my self,Im in the need for PINS.Sure do miss those isolated beach trips down there. _________________ ''ONE LAST CAST''
