AHHHH the smell of bacon, potatoes, beans and chorizo, simmering on the stove already. Great way to start the day. Currently clear skies over my house but the radar is pretty busy maybe we will get wet again today. The barometer is steady at 29.97, the humidity is 86%, with an outside temp of 80 degs. Getting ready to load up, fishing on the Flat Bottom Girl with me today is my good neighbor Bamared , Coastguardsman Sal was going but had a last minute can't go, so he had to bail. Report later.

THE horizon view this morning.

The Backyard paid off today. The reds range from 28 to 24 inches and we had a couple of oversize that were released. All were caught on plastics and I think Bamared caught 1 or 2 on a gold spoon. It was a constant double hook up as the large school of I would guess about a 1000 reds stayed right with us. It was a nice sight and hopefully one of things to come in the next couple of months. It's getting to be my favorite time of year. If there had been 5 guys on the boat everyone would have limited out. Good day in the Backyard. Thanks Steve I had fun. IMS

I heard about a large school of oversize in the back yard. Talked to a guy pulling in at bluffs while I was cleaning fish. Said he was on over size after over size and then the boat crowd moved in on them and he left. Said he was a weekday and fisherman and didn't care for the crowd.

I miss weekday fishing myself.

We had them all to ourselves luckily no one else honed in on us. Actually some guy in a tower boat spooked them but I guess he didn't know what a school of reds looked like. He turned them right into us. We were already set up on a drift. It happens...

Judging from the tone of a board lurker , apparently I catch and will always catch more fish than you. Zero respect........ Wink
