Well I never did get Staff Sgt. Hobart on that big red while he was here. I caught a couple and Sal latched on to one yesterday on a top water. But judging from the reports I did not do all that bad. The tide really dropped out again which kept me and my fiberglass hull out of Deadmans yesterday or I would have fished Kates hole. The Boathole didn't produce anything either. Maybe after Sgt. Hobart gets done with his next mission in Africa he will be able to get back down here. He is good in the boat and a serious fisherman. He runs a aluminum boat with a jet up in the Kentucky rivers and creeks and fishes for bass. I told him to post some pics on here as they would be most welcomed. There will always be a seat available for him in my boat.
This is Sal, full time Coast Guard and really good with watercraft and their mechanics. This is his personal best Red at 31 inches and fat. It busted a pink skitterwalker in one quick bite and with an impressive explosion to go along with it. Thanks for the tacos Sal.
A small broken wire eliminated the use of the trolling motor yesterday but it was easily fixed back at the shop. The wire broke at the crimp. They were soldered back together recrimped ..correctly and extra strain relief was added to prevent it from happening again. Flatbottom boats and vibration go together. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

We only managed 1 red on our wade. It has been awhile since I had been on the water but backside of the island water color was a bit dirty. I'd wish my repairs would be as simple

21" & 22" reds + 2 specks + 2 fine Bobalu cigars in the yak = a great time. Beaucoup mullet, clear water and too many turtles to count. HooYah! _________________ HooYah!

Nice report. I wanted to go back in there but no fish is worth losing gel cost over. To me anyway. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Kates wasnt doing all that much lately.
I managed 6 reds saturday and we got 2 today. Different areas though. Did see some in the area we talked about but it was late in the day and they were alert. Need them feeding so they wont see me haha.
Let me know when he makes a trip back and you need to find them. Ill try and help out. _________________

The water is so brown that the reds would have to be really shallow to see them I don't care what kind of glasses anyone is wearing. I was hunting wakes and ripples and bait. I'll be back on em soon. Gonna take a break tis week, actually I'm going to take a break until the water comes back up a little. Think i'll wax my boat. _________________ I LIKE MINE FRIED. |

Its clearing up on the east side. We hit the KRS and it was TERRIBLE! Reds came from popping cork and gulp. Not my favorite kind of fishing but it worked. They were just in the middle of no where. Hopefully the glassy conditions coming up will settle the water color a bit more. _________________
