Has any noticed any obvious changes since the opening of Packery? More frequent tarpon sightings in the bays? More sharks? Pompano? More jacks in the bays? I have noticed some of the guts I used to fish seem to be a little deeper and have alot more water flowing through them....so it seems....

The trout were schooled blowing bait up last october. Further back byt the Bridge to Port Aransas, I cuaght some flounder, small reds, few trout, and some small snapper.

I believe it too, fished around the boat hole area tuesday and got my hook cut off four times fishing with live shrimp. One of the times I was cut off was at the shiny black swivel for my shock leader. When ever you fish for smacks make sure your swivel is flat black.

the cownose are very common in all areas of the bays during the warmer months. In the winter they seem to concentrate in the surf more.

One of my buddies caught a 31" red drum, and threw it back, I caught some black drum and saw someone recently pull out what I thought was a spanish mackerel. I know several others have pulled both black and red drum, quite a few flounders as well.

Just have to fish it a few times to figure out the sweet spots.

Pretty good between the highway over pass (going to Padre Island) where it crosses over the channel and the curve going toward the open waters.

Have fun!

Things are definately heating up inshore because of Packery. I think we need a really "nice" tropical storm to flush it all out and make it all come together for some phenomenal inshore fishing. We could be as "hot" as Florida in the next few years because of the Packery.

yes, Packery's influence is evident......this past week saw smacks in the flats on the KRS and in the ICWW......although not very exciting, saw live Sargassum down in the same area to Pure Oil.......even in high winds, the packery flats are almost always gin clear......and with someone catching a bonefish off BHP this past fall, things could get very interesting......

people have been catching snook, jacks, kings, and all kinds of cool stuff off the jetties......yes, I would expect more reports of sharks jacks and tarpon using the pass as well......

I"m excited about it all, I'm not going to lie......very cool stuff
