I may get shot, stoned, beat, or worse yet shunned for mentioning this, but the water temp at Pir Isabel has dropped to 75.

It figures with a trip to Mansfield planned for July 21-23, that we would have an "event" like this happening. I was wondering with the vast wealth of knowledge on this board, if it should rectify within a week and a half.

Thanks

It dropped off the beach colder and colder the farther out I went last monday and tuesday. By Wednesday even the wade gut was only 74.

Nothing out of the ordinary.

Check TCOON's site (Data Access page), and graph out the water temps for the last month for SPI, Port A, and Bob Hall Pier. You will see that the SPI station has way more daily swings in temp, and going down to ~75 happens just about every day.

The stations up here are about where I would expect, and show no signs of a "wind induced - dramatic water temperature change" fluctuation.

Carry on down to Mansfield! That 75 in the wade gut will be downright refreshing.

it means I hope I'm wrong about what's going on and it's just a single blip on the radar because of some cloudy days and rain runoff and not something else....
