I've been fishing in Redfish Bay since I'm camped on it and haven't seen many finger mullet at all. I see the tiny mullet, 2 inch ones, and the larger ones, 7" and beyond, but not the finger mullet. In years past, I used to see large groups of them and now, only a few at a time...what's up?
Anyone else notice a lack of finger mullet schools in the bays?

It looks like everything is running a month behind. I have a spot that I usually see mullet at in June, and 2 weekends ago there were only tiny, baby mullet there. Perhaps they spawned later this year due to the persistent cold fronts, and therefore you will see the schools of bait-sized finger mullet in another 2-4 weeks or so. Let's hope so, at least.

Last year they were incredibly late.... Seeing same pattern this year. Did manage some useable croaker and two fingers Monday at access rd 2 in the surf....
