I assume the algae bloom is still in force though the stuff that is in some of the Upper Laguna with the yellow boat trails is not the brown tide species. I understand the bloom in Nighthawk is neither the brown or the one that makes the yellow boat trails. It is green but not much visibility. Explaining in lay terms for those who don't understand Topdog15's science speak.

Anyone been down to the Pure Oil area since the rain? I am taking my uncle from SA for a quick after work trip and we won't have a lot of time so it would be nice to save the trip if the area isn't looking good.

East side of the Laguna had decent water yesterday evening. The west side was chocolate.

Poor fishing. Water is brown. I was on a good run early this year down south wading with plastics. Drum fishing was fantastic all winter and early Spring, but lately I wouldnt hire me to do anything other than boat ride. Joe

This is about the middle of the back yard yesterday afternoon. Only fished from 1-3pm. Nothing in the back yard but water clarity was not bad. Further south about 1/2 way to Pure Oil clarity was light brown. North of the bridge was great clarity. Picked up a few small trout in the flats north of the bridge. No keepers.
