Killed my first bull in Tinney, NM. The hunt was on a low fence private ranch. The bull scored 307.

Nice congrats. I drew an either sex bow tag in NM a few years ago in Unit 34. I passed on several cows and a spike. They were all 20-30yds but I saw them early in my hunt. I was holding out for a nice bull. About halfway into the hunt a buddy cooked up some elk that somebody gave him and after tasting it I was ready to shoot any elk that presented itself. It was that good. Unfortunately the weather turned on me and it was so windy and nasty the rest of the hunt the opportunity never presented itself so I ended up with tag soup Embarassed

Ive been there before, heres the story. I dont care for the meat except making jerky and stew out of it. That being said I have been the last 3 years (7 day rifle hunts) and passed on several 5x5's, 6x5's and spikes. This guy walked out and I couldnt get the gun up fast enough. I told myself he is atleast 300+ bull so down he went! I shot him 3rd morning into the hunt and that was a huge mistake!! I continued hiking and scouting bulls for my brother in laws and came with in 50 yrds of a few bulls scaring the hell out of 350 possibly 360's. Im headed back October 9th this year with full intentions of taking a 350 bull.
