I've never fished Yarborough but am planning a trip for next Friday assuming the weather is nice and the pass is drivable... Any tips for a newb?

Watch out for big fish. Don't go under-gunned. Laughing

From what folks are telling me, the current drive conditions are horrible all down the beach. Good luck.

I went down there today. The driving on the beach is definitly slow. The pass was no problem getting in to. There were people back there camping.

Thanks for the replies... Sources tell me that live shrimp is still scarce. Any truth to it?

They are due to late winter...but don't let that discourage you. There has been times where I've pulled more fish with dead shrimp then live shrimp to the person next to me. Ya just never know what kind of mood they are in. Good luck brother!

ok, looks like my buddy and I may have to have a backup plan.

Here is the original plan, leave SA at 0430, which should put us on PINS by 0730 or so, but with the tons of weed that is reported and the poor driving conditions it looks like we wont make Yarborough until 0830 or 0900... So...

What about Bird Island Basin? Should we skip PINS all together and hit someplace like the Packery flats? Kates Hole? Deadmans Hole?

I only get the chance to take a few day trips per year and have been consistently skunked the last 5 or 6 times so needless to say I dang sure dont want to come home empty handed again..

Advice?
