I went on a long (for me) kayak trip this morning. I left the house on the island and paddled my way down to the north end of Nighthawk. Crossed nighthawk, fished around the islands, the inter coastal. I went all the way to the yellow cabin and then headed back. it was a great morning to be out.

A little tip for everyone. There is a large school of drum and reds roaming the outer canals at Padre Isles. I found it on the way in and I saw a bunch of boats go right past it never realizing they were there. I've seen them do this before but its usually later in the summer. It was hard to catch a red because the drum were so aggressive. So as you are idling out, keep your eyes sharp. You may not even have to get on plane to catch all you want.
