I love my reef sandals but I hate buying a pair every 6 months. Every single pair blows out the toe strap. Is there a more durable sandal more suitable for fishing.
Thanks |

| Flip flops? I've had a pair of quicksilver ones for 4 yrs now and I fish with them on the jetties. They have a suede toe strap and are dense rubbery foam with rubber soles. Still going strong |

| I prefer shoes without glue, like crocs. Shimano makes a nicer version, but pricier. Seems like every shoe with glue falls apart when exposed to salt. I recently bought some croc flip flops that I will using for the beach. Just my opinion, I know they are ugly, but they get the job done. |

| Olukai. Yes they are pricey. I would not buy suggest buying a pair unless you have a HIGH utility value for flip flops. I do so mine are worth it for me. |

i havent had a problem with my reefs falling apart. the only problem i have is after about a year or so they get stretched out from being in the water all the time _________________ If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am. |

SPERRY - they have several models to choose from. Found a great deal on them at Boaters World. Love the support they give you, and the traction,on wet surfaces, is the best. Used to wear the Santa Cruz model and they broke off after about 6 months. Have the SON-R now and it's been 8 months and going strong. I wear these flip flops 80% of the time.
That's my choice. |

Tevas or Merrell, preferably leather, and "strappy" vs. thong versions, and make sure the closure strap doubles back over from one side of the foot to the other. Otherwise they'll tend to fall off since there'll be too much tension on the velcro especially when in water. I recently had to retire a pair of Tevas I wore almost daily (to the point I'm teased about it) for over 6 years... , many of those days were spent hiking in the Rockies, wading in rivers/surf/etc and generally abusing them. They're still totally wearable just not very pretty.
I replaced them with a very similar sandal from Merrell and I'm just as happy. Very comfortable and extremely durable.
The new DSW off Staples has a pretty good selection of sandals. |

| Rainbows - supposedly the original flip flop. It takes 3-4 years to wear the bottoms and I have never broken a strap or had one pull thru. |

Keen is my go to flip flop. Pricey but worth it. I would have had a pair for going on 7 years. But my Dog ruined that. Nervous habit after we adopted her. She doesn't chew anymore. That's how I found out they are pricey. Originally bought them on clearance at Marshalls. _________________ I am a Sports fan. An outdoor lover if I am doing what I love. Fishing and hunting. |
