Is it worth trying this weekend or should I look elsewhere? 1st time taking the boat out so I also don't want to put myself in a sticky situation.

Try the L reef, south bay, or lydia ann channel, and look for schools

Mostly targeting Reds and Trout but not much luck today. Spent most of the time exploring and breaking in the new motor. Decided to launch from Conn Brown today and not the Estes area. Just don't know the water well enough to get somewhere just by directions so it's gonna take some time learning the water.

Well conn brown is a good place to start. You could hit Terminal, Hog, and Morris Cummins. Those are 3 places that are very easy to find and all in that general area.

Good luck my friend, and congrats on the new boat.
