Just a shot out there hoping someone on the board has one that they've used and no longer need and want to sell or anyone pointing me in in the right direction on what type to buy. I have two new rottweilter puppies (6 months old) that are not staying on my property and am worried that they may get picked up. I dont really like having them penned up or on a chain so thats not really an option. I need to keep them within a 4-5 acre area. Any help is better than none. I've done a little research, so I do know a bit about some of the different types out there. Thanks _________________ "Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught." |

Lowes has an electric fence kit for around $30. Comes with box, stakes, and wire. You may need to purchase more wire for 5acres but its pretty cheep. Kit works great, I bought it for my jack russel, she kept getting out. A couple of shocks and you won't even have to have it plugged in anymore _________________ I'd rather be Fishing! |

Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for. How many collars comes with the kit? _________________ "Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught." |

No collars. Just a hot wire. _________________ I'd rather be Fishing! |

| I think what you want is at Pet Smart. The wire is buried out of sight and the dog wears a special collar. When the dog gets close to the boundary wire, it gets a small shock. Worked great on a Lab. |

If they come in contact with the wire they receive a show. Its an electric fence, like used for cattle and horses. But its a lower shock meant for small animals. Wont hurt them just keeps them contained in yard _________________ I'd rather be Fishing! |

| Pet Smart has the whole kit for $300, but you might find one cheaper on the internet (ie ebay, craigs list, etc.) |
