I searched this question and skipjack asked a similar question but it was five years ago so I thought I would ask again. Anyone have any experience with waterproof handheld radios for kayak to kayak use? I also want to have one to communicate with folks back on the shore when I am paddling baits. I was looking at cobra and ICOM earlier. Any input is appreciated guys. Thanks.

I have used an icom m34 for several years and have had good luck with it. Floats, water proof, high/low power, and has good clarity and range with 5 watt transmitter. All vhf radios are line of sight. The higher the antenna the better the range. 1 year warranty and the battery charge holds for a long time. I also use a 25 watt ICOM with 8' antenna on my boat.
