I'd been throwing them back until yesterday when I boxed a couple at a friend's suggestion. I had them last night, and they were exceptional fried.

Ugh, read the post and I thought you were talking about for bait! To each his own I guess! I just figure there are ALOT better tasting fish out there than bluefish and hardheads! You just gotta catch them! But that's interesting bc I've NEVER heard of anyone eating them? Are they fishy tasting?

These blues joined my yesterday's trout catch for dinner. I was surprised at how white the meat turned out. I expected it to be a heavier, oily meat. It was everything but.

They are pretty good, but you gotta eat them fresh. But, the most important part is you gotta bleed them right away. I like to throw them on the grill at the beach right after I gut and bleed them.

I kept one for my cat who loves gamefish scraps. I made sandwich baggies for food and he wouldn't touch them. My wife finally tried microwave cooking them for him and that was the ticket lol.

Where i come from blue fish (elf) is a very sought after fish. -The Shad, also called the Elf (Bluefish) in certain parts of South Africa, is probably the most well known fish species in South Africa, especially along the KwaZulu Natal coast where the Shad congregate in big shoals and attack any bait or lure. There is a major problem with Shad anglers in South Africa as they do not obey the bag limits: The closed season for the Shad is the 1st of October to the 30th of November and to keep a Shad they have to be at least 30 centimeters in length. An angler may only keep 4 Shad per day. The Shad is also known as the Elf, Tailor and Bluefish.- I will eat a Bluefish any day

Now I am confused. Your people in Alabama eat mullet and think it is a delicacy yet you turn your nose up at bluefish? Next you will say flounder is trash
