Fishers: Recently there have been a few undocumented reports of poor or "emaciated" black drum showing up again in the Upper Laguna and Baffin. As many of you know, there are several studies planned and on going in Baffin. The base water quality study is going into its sixth month and there are studies planned after the first of the year specific to black drum and food web analyses. If you catch or hear of any poor or emaciated drum in either the Laguna or Baffin, please let us know. Photos of the fish and location and date caught would really be helpful. Please pass this along to your fishing friends. Thanks, Scott Murray

Drum look fit and healthy at 37 so far Smile
Did see a smaller one pulled (10/22) but I think it was undersized and the people that caught it also got popped with a maybe 14in red by the warder so can't say for certain.

A month ago we kept 15 drum from the 37 area, 20-25 inches. All but 2 or 3 had a rubbery fillet. We had to throw some out. I was keeping and eting the baffin drum that were sick so you know it was bad if im having to say no to a fillet. Havent kept any since but they seem to be feeding normally.
