Was in the area so I braved the rain and fished for about 4 hours in the late afternoon. Rain was scattered so I had several windows of nice weather. Weed was abundant and I had a hard time keeping bait from drifting with the current. Was fishing the end closer to the bridge so people at the end of the channel might have faired better than I did. The mullet were running as usual and I had no problem netting some. The perch were aggravating as they kept eating away my bait. Threw my bleeding shad lure and had a hard hit. Reeled it in and the sucker was bit clean in half just short of the hook. A father and son fishing near the bridge on the south side told me they had a field day catching croacker on fishbites. No fish today but I always enjoy getting lines wet. Until next time!

Noob question
Why are gafftops good to eat but NOT hardheads?
I've never tried either.

That's a good question. Do not know why but i do know gaftop are good. Cut some of the red meat out of the skin side first. Might have something to do with their diets but that is only a guess.
