Drove down Sunday afternoon cause Monday was looking decent to get some fishing in, but like mentioned as soon as I rolled over the hill I was greeted by seaweed. With no specific agenda for the entire week I started a slow cruise down the beach. That and the driving kinda sucked at high tide. Nothing really eventful till I got down in the 30s till about the 45 where I decided to sleep for the night. right as the sun was setting, if you could cast a spoon you would get a skipjack, if you could cast a chunk of skipjack quick enough you could get a shark...mostly 4-5fters but fun on light tackle. It was pretty neat watching them dart in and out of the wade gut!! It was near impossible to keep a line more than a couple minutes. ate dinner then called it a night only to get awaken by early morning storms. So I ran down to the jetties to see what was up. Lots of reports of reds. Like mentioned about 1 mile of beach was fishable so I fished it and picked up a couple upper 5ft blacktips again on casted baits. it was nice not to even have to unload the kayak. Called it a day shortly after when the weed started taking over there too. My 2cents on shark fishing right now if you just want to have fun, stay mobile, don't drive 80mph, keep your eyes open, and use fist size chunks of bait when you see them. If you cant beat the weed, fight it.
