Wind is currently 8-9 mph out of the WNW ranging from 249-289 on the compass direction. Humidity is 86%, temp. is 79 degs, barom. is 29.91, skies are mostly cloudy with flashes of lightning out on the island right now. Radar is showing scattered to numerous showers off shore headed our direction. Check your local radar out before heading out today. I don't mind a nice cool rain but lightning is no fun.
Headed out in a short while with my daughter Vickie and my #1 son-in-law Russell no rush today. Yesterday my neighbor Bamared says" hey I got you a present" So he brings me a brand new lure in the box. It's one of them UNFAIR things. I knew when he handed it to me he was thinking....here old timer try something new for a change. It was a nice gift I can't remember the last time someone bought me a lure. I examined it and finally figured out that if Mirrorlure and Yozuri got together and had a baby this is what it would come out looking like. So I will go out this morning and fling it around like a big ol booger and see if it sticks to anything. The hooks on it are pretty impressive. That's the coffee report hopefully we won't get stormed out this morning. The cloudy skies will be a nice change from the hot sun. Fishing report later....IMS
REPORT..
I'M going to start off with some kinda funny stuff, well it's funny to me anyway. As I was leaving the Whitecap channel this morning there was about 5 boats ahead of me and I was last. As soon as I got past the spoil Island I told my kids to look at the big school of reds off to the right. I can't believe all them boats went right by them the wake was a foot high. It was to shallow for me to drift in an the wind was blowing me right into the spoil but I picked one off anyway and took off. I could have limited if hadn't been for the nw wind. With all the storms and lightning in the area I headed over to my honey hole that I hadn't fished in awhile and it was loaded with bait and trout and some reds. There also must have been a tourney going on because of all the well dressed anglers in their tight spandex shorts and colorful shirts standing up on their towers. For a moment I felt under dressed in my slimy bloody white stained cheap Magellan shirt and my old baggie shorts with bleach spots on them.
But that quickly passed with a 23 inch trout hook up at the same moment I was thinking that. As for the " Unfair lure" I will give it 1 thumbs up as I did boat some fish with it, but was not reel happy with it's action. However the faster I worked it the more blows ups I got. I think I will cut the swivel off that it comes with and just use my loop knot. The Skitterwalker did just as good without the work. It was a good day of fishing, the kids had fun. I stayed out a little longer trying to get my daughter on that big red but it just didn't happen today and that made dear ol dad a little sad. So it's fried fresh fish tonight along with some shrimp. My son- in - law boated the biggest red at 27 inches. I have a full schedule so I will see ya'll later. Have a great day. IMS

| You generally seem to take unfair advantage of the fish as it is. Now it's official. At least you are more tyan fatr with everyone else. |

Hope the coffee was good. I had plans to go fishing this weekend but it got called off. Reporting from the office today...it's quite, no phone calls and no email, getting work done and waiting to know how the fishing was. |

I always love seeing the boats hauling buns past me. Leaves me to myself.
Way to get everyone on some fish, Stan. Can hear the oil sizzling. |

Glad ya got to give them a shot stan! Im going to save you the time since i know your jumping at the bit to try those live action lures they dont work too well at least inshore ...We were out there this morning in the yaks with that storm it got pretty wild....pulled 2 reds and a dozen keeper trout..all borderline keepers....
Heard about that school of reds, sounds like those tourny guys found them eventually haha _________________
