| Would like to hook up TV in cabin, near Bird Island Basin and was wondering if anyone else was able to get digital stations out of Corpus at their cabin? Football season nearing so it would be nice. Any feedback (capabilities, antenna, etc) will be appreciated. Thanks |

we have a cabin straight across from BI and I have used one of the 8-1/2" x 11" HEB or Walmart inexpensive digital antennas with great success on the local channels. Of course a digital tv makes a lot of difference in the picture quality.

According to this (http://transition.fcc.gov/mb/engineering/dtvmaps/), your signal should be fine around Bird Island.
Don't get caught up in the whole digital/HDTV antenna thing. That's just marketing language. Radio waves are radio waves. Just need a good UHF/VHF antenna to get you going.
Given the strength indicated on the map above, you should be fine with any small or medium-sized multi-directional antenna. |
