Got up and on the water rather late today...about 8AM im finally paddling around...

a quarter mile from launch i see bait getting busted up offshore style...i can see skippies running amuck but i knew some others had to be lurking...

Tossed in live shrimp and nothing but skippies so i figured forget this and tied on a topwater...

Twitch twitch...Pop!....for the next 4 hours i was killing the trout...had around 35-40 keepers on topwaters alone....

The skipjacks would leave and i could use live shrimp again ..float didnt matter it would go down before i could pop it...

Learned a few things about topwater....

if they missed a bite i would keep twitching...if they tail slapped or knocked it around i would let it sit and have it move sporadically in place and they would nail it....

after the topwater fun i started to have fun wiht lures...every cast got me a trout only 1 in 8 would be undersized the rest keepers...

Gave the new scorpion jigs a try...bought some from http://www.treasurecoasttackle.com/ after a recommendation and man they were solid...right in the corner every damn time...i would try and lose one and it just wasnt happening...good jigs man try em out

After lord knows how many trout the bite finally died around 12:30...as i was paddling back i could see birds working and fish still being busted in the open bay...

Till next time...
Life is good...

Nice man, that's so cool you found a discarded stringer full of fish that someone left behind! What are the odds!

Laughing

Epic day brother. You need to show me the inshore ropes next time I'm down. Maybe Labor Day...

Nice jig heads, I like the Kahle hook style design to them. Little pricey at over $1/ea, but ill try a pack. Some of their other plastics look good as well!.

Their softs look good. The 3" fat mullet one. Ill order a pack with the jigs to try. All I use are chickenboys or a 3-3.5" Pogy/Mullet plastic. I rarely throw a topwater. Probably why I get alot more reds than trout. Reds taste better anyway.
