I've always used power pro but looking for some better quality. Any recommendations? Also curious to know how often one should change out braid for optimal performance, or what are some signs it's time to spool on new braid. Thanks.

I like Momoi Diamond braid.

The new Power Pro "Slick" isn't too bad either.

As far as how often you should change it out I'm no help because I'm one of those guys that waits until I start having problems with it ... Smile

Another one for windtammer. I use a little 2500 shimano fill it up as much as I can. I check and retie leader and knots before every trip out. So when I can spool my reel casting out then its time for new line.

Wind Tamer is a product that you buy on line. I haven't seen it at Academy?
