Started like any other day, launched at sun rise and headed to the backyard. Didn't have much traffic at all (great thing about Monday! Very Happy ), so the fish weren't skittish near Pita Island. Dad and I had 2 fish in the box, and I realize my knot looks funny on the hook. I pull on it and the hook falls right off, so now I am thinking "glad I didn't hook into a nice fish". Next cast, my drag starts screaming as a fish takes off toward a sandbar. After a long fight, my new PB trout surfaced Very Happy !!!! Here is a close-up of this (nearly) 31" beauty:

Finished the day and caught about 8 more trout from 15" to 20" in the next few hours. All fish caught in 2-3 feet of water with lots of bait/ feeding action. Saw a good size trout go airborne chasing some bait. Awesome Cool

Be safe out their guys!

Wow! Good timing on checking your knot. Avoided a disheartening loss.

Congratulations on a nice fish and good report. My knot failures always came after tying on a new jig head or lure - in a hurry, I didn't tighten properly. I now make sure I tug on the tag end to seat all of the wraps and the problem has disappeared. Very cool you checked.
