I know this is off topic but my buddy found the craziest looking bug ever. I say new species. hopefully someone can help ID or point us in the right direction. I took pics on my phone and need help posting them. Its a must see!!!!!

What we found appears to be a case moth in a cocoon. I got some cool pics if anyone wants to see them

What color is the cocoon or is it a chrysalis ? If it is still in good condition you can hang inside a jar. We did this once and watched a Monarch butterfly come out . Talk about something cool for the kids to see close up. Must of been 20 years ago. Very Happy

Jerry B nailed it - mole cricket (family Gryllotalpidae). Another use for the entomology course I took in college!

Notice the lack of strong, mole-like forefeet. I'm going to go with Jerusalem cricket instead of mole cricket.

Aaron, I think the tibia is much thinner on the Jerusalem, but could easily be wrong. What matters most is will a trout eat one !!
