It has been a while since I got a line wet, so I woke up dark and early
this morning to wet one on the back side of Mustang Island. I had noticed
that there had not too many reports from there, but I figured to give it a try anyway.
Left early to beat the rush of Spring Break and was starting to rig the kayak about the time the sun came out.


Fished soft and hard plastic without any takers. Threw spoons...nada.
Tried some Gulps I had left over from last year and had a couple of small bites with no fish. I finally netted up some bait and managed to land two stingrays and three undersized Redfish. Headed back to the house around noon. Did not bring home any dinner but I won't have to visit my shrink
this month.

Water was good color and clear. Only a few mullet jumping here and there. The couple in this picture did manage one small trout while I watched.



All in all a great day.

Thanks for the report. At least you got out and had a good time. Shrinks make to much money anyway.
