This is not about a hunting trip that I am going on but I am as excited as if I was going too.
I have 26 and 16 year old sons that are both excetional hunters. Due to their difference in age that have not spent as much time together as alot of siblings. They are close but just have not done a ton of things together. well yesterday my oldest boy called to talk about his yearly trip to Georgia to spend Thanksgiving week hunting with one of my best friends Dean. Unfortunatly Dean and his wife have never been able to have kids and Andrew, my oldest son, has become in many ways his son as well.
We moved to Texas when my younger son Brent was born and although he has spend some time with Dean he has never gottem to be as close with him as Andrew.
Anyhow, in the middle of our conversation Andrew asked what Brent was doing for Thanksgiving and if would be alright for them to go together to Georgia. I just got back from there and I have alot planned so I cannot go and do not think i would if time allowed. I am so excited for them to get this opportunity to spend real quality time together doing what they both love. They are leaving tomorrow afternoon and I am in full speed mode getting everything together for them. I am so into it that my wife said to me at lunch today that she keeps forgetting that I am not actually going.
When I spoke with Dean last night he was excited as a kid at Christmas. Said he had always looked forward to the time he would get to hunt with "the brothers" I cant wait to get updates as the week goes along and my heart is full with pride and happiness. Just wanted to share this with my fellow sporstmen (and women) and will post their results when they return. Good luck to all those going afield and to the water and have a great Thanksgiving week. |

I never got the whole deal with my dad saying he is happy for me and proud of me. I know people say it alot and u dont think about it but after haveing two wonderful kids I see where my dad was coming from. My kids are small (2 and 4) but it seems they pick up on what I do and they do it too. that alone makes me a proud parent and happy as well. Oh and yes please post pics. Its all about family. _________________ Thanks Bubba |

| So far nothing has hit the ground. The younger boy called in a nice 8 but could only see the top of his head and never presented a clean shot. This cold weather is hitting them now so the action should pick up. Spoke to them last night and they are having a blast. Happy Thanksgiving to all. |
