I love fishing but I only have a small SUV and can't get to all the remote areas that a 4X4 can. Yesterday I fished from 6:30 in the morning until 8:00 at night and the only fish I caught was a small trout. I use medium to light tackle and for days I've been wasting money on shrimp and croaker. Cast netting mullet has been work because there aren't any. My wife and I love to go fishing early in the morning. I've tried Phillip Dimmit Pier, Oso Bridge behind the University, Packery Channel and the surf. I've caught a fish here and there but honestly it's been horrible. However I love to do it. Yesterday I went many places and end up at the Jetties. I carried a 5 gallon bucket full of live shrimp to the end of the jetties and didn't get a bite. I'm getting burned out, so I need help. It's funny because I was telling my 9 year old when she asked why I fish so much that I'm doing it to catch fish in order to save money. She replied, "Dad you are spending like 25 dollars a day on ice, food, bait and gas."

I laughed because it's true. Someone help me out please.
