The cold water upwelling still has the water in close dirty. The dirty water extends until about the end of the pier.

Yep, I was telling my dad the same thing when he asked about fishing in it. I did see one person with a fish - a hardhead. _________________ Like Corpusfishing.com on Facebook! |

I tried on Sunday from bobhall all the way to the 5mm on pins. I could not get away from the hardheads on my bait rods other thatn 2 whiting. one of which was bleeding from fresh teeth marks. looked like it could of been some small sharks in the 3-4 foot range. _________________ Chris Gonzales |

PLEASE!!! Somone go plug that cold water upwell hole! This muddy water has got to go. I need to be fishing for Kings on BHP. Hopefully it will stop soon. The surf is coming down and we need to get some fish landed on BHP i know there are a few Star Tournament fish hanging around. Especially after my friend landed a 70+lb Cobia from BHP a few weeks ago.
Need to get my fix in! _________________ D. Askew |

Fished BHP from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm today.
Caught over 40 hard head cats, two undersized trout and one lady fish.
My wife hooked a 20 lb black drum and lost it as we raised it up towards the pier rails. Tried shrimp, squid and cut lady fish.
Saw one nice, fat 27" redfish caught on cut mullet.
At 9:00 am as we walked out on the pier, we saw a 6+ shark only thirty yards from shore explode on a baitfish or mullet. Then with both fins out of the water, it swam on down the shoreline. |

Today fished BHP from 9:30 to 2:30.
Water color improved at end of pier from dark brown to a lighter brown-green color. Fishing changed also. Caught much bigger catfish today. About 20 hardheads, but caught several large gafftop catfish. One gafftop weighed seven pounds. Also, caught two sharks including one three foot Hammerhead.
Cut mullet was the ticket for getting more bites and bigger fish today.
Also, the three hook Pompano leaders with small yellow floats above each hook and a 2 ounce pyramid sinker seemed to produce better than just the regular leader set-up.
Others were also catching similar sharks and catfish today, but at a slower rate with squid and shrimp. Amazingly, did not see any other species of fish caught. |
