I'm actually going to get out of San Antonio and hit the coast Easter weekend. Usually I just fish at either Fish Pass or N Jetty PA depending on the time of the year.
I stay at a place on the beach that looks over that area where all of the boats launch to Shamrock Cove. Keeps the wife happy...
Since it's weed and wind time I was thinking about doing some wade fishing close by on the bay side of the island.
Curious if anyone can offer advice about wadefishing this area. I have neither a boat or a yak. Just a mean jones to fish.
I appreciate the intel.

I HAVE FISHED THIS AREA MANY TIMES. GO AROUND THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE LAUNCH AND FOLLOW THE BEATEN PATH YOU STRAY YOU SINK. MOST SPOTS ARE RECOGNIZABLE BY THE TRACKS THAT LEAD TO THE WATER. ITS A GOOD WALK TO MOST AREAS BUT SOMETIMES CAN BE WELL WORTH IT. KEEP AN EYE ON THE TIDE, IT COMES UP TO HIGH AND CAN MAKE AN AREA IMPASSABLE.
GOOD LUCK

If your not into a 2-3mile wade there try farther south at deadmans, kates hole or Packery flats. Wadeable just off the shorelines.
Get a top-spot map (Academy) or pm me for further details. _________________ -STAY THIRSTY MY FRIENDS!- |

The top spots map is the way to go. Tons of good areas to fish. work topwaters early morning in the shallows to 3' deep for reds and specks. Switch over to paddle tail jigs once the topwater bite stops, and work 3 to 5 feet deep. As the sun gets farther overhead, work slower and lower. _________________ GOBZA!!!

Top Spot Map on a short shopping list.
Oh yea, I can just see me leaving Academy with just one item!
I have heard of Shamrock Cove, Deadman's Hole, Kate's Hole and Packery flats. Now it's time to find them and see what I can learn.
I appreciate the input guys.
