Spent the last week running from the 20 to the fish pass, hither and yon between. So here we go.
Water is clear to trout green, wade gut and onshore structure as good as i've seen in years for "fishing on the hard beach". Rain minnows and horse mullet present, along with A.D.D lady fish up to 25". Sargassum is workable with just about any lure and easy to fish under. The reds and trout are liking mirrolures - everything i caught was over 20". The high (steady) tide through mid day and 24/7 "moderate onshore" wind = frustrating long shore current, the lure fisherman must be patient.
For those who live here - when the wind lets up - the beachfront trout fishing should be epic for a couple days.
I'd be throwing pink/silver or red/white until then. Afterward, similar in tops _________________ The next epic report is currently in the past. |
