It was another stellar event. Thanks to everyone who made it happen, Fido aka Eric. Handling the reservations and the funds was really appreciated. Thanks to CuznDave for the Spoon'r lures, to Sonny for the jerky, to Funmeter Gene for the funmeters which were pegged most of the time.

Two to three foot seas greeted us as we headed out. We would try one spot to examine the size of the snappers and then moved on to another.

Daughter in Law, Whitney Thorsen with a fat snapper and a pegged funmeter.

Everyone limited easily and then it was on to catch vermillion snapper and anything else that would bite which included warsaw grouper, amberjack, king mackerel ( the king mackerel bite really turned on after that squall hit us and and threw sideways rain and 35 mile an hour plus winds and some sporty seas at us)

Here Donna Stapelton-Williams is hooked up, Video courtesy of Daniel Blackwell and the Caller Times.

Mike Cantu and Whitney hooked up with kings

My catch for the day. I was really pumped to get the strawberry grouper and the lane snapper!

New video from the Caller Times done by Daniel and narrated by David Sikes.

And here is the catch from our 21 folks on board. The big king was caught by Horse51. Estimated to be in the 40lb range.

Thanks again to all her made it special. Fido's great ceviche, the crew from Deep Sea Headquarters, Capt. Dean, Jeremy and Kyle. The bait was the best I have ever seen on any offshore headboat and the service was excellent. They even complimented us on our fishing skills. They normally have to hold everyone's hand to show them how to properly use the rods and reels , rig the bait, proper form for reeling in fish etc.

It was fun getting to know site members better. David does one heck of a job as an outdoor reporter. His pictures and video attest to that.

Hi everyone this is Daniel Blackwell (aka caller.com videographer).

I just wanted to come here to thank everyone and let yall know what a great time I had on your annual offshore fishing trip! Even though I did give up my breakfast to the sea, everyone was so welcoming and someone (I believe his name was James) even gave me a fresh fishing shirt to wear. As many of you know it was my first time offshore and I felt like a fish out of water at first but with the helpful tips and advice I received from the group I was catching fish in no time!

Once again, I would like to say THANK YOU to everyone at Corpusfishing.com for making my first offshore fishing trip unforgettable!

P.S. Here's the video I put together of the trip.
