Hit up the surf south of Bob Hall between the two sets of sticks. Just had a couple hours to kill, but wanted to see if the hardheads are still around. Threw out some shrimp and fishbites and right away caught a whiting off the second sand bar. Cut it up and put it out on the long rod. Got hit right away, but no hookup. As a side note, after casting the long rod from the second sand bar, I started walking back and the side of my leg and foot rubbed against a fish. Don't think it was a shark, possibly a good sized red. Made me jump though. Cast back out and the bait got hit again. Reeled in a small blacktip. By this time my young daughter woke up from her nap, so I couldn't walk the bait out and cast into the second gut, so just tossed it out into the first gut. Then I started catching whiting again. The long rod got a couple small bites, but nothing picked it up. After about two hours I had to pack it in, as my daughter was ready to go home. Total for the trip was 8 decent whiting, 1 small blacktip, and only 1 hardhead. Not too bad, way better than last week. Water was very beautiful, with a little weed. But, was very fishable as there was no current.

Watch for the rays. I got hit while back was down a ways from the sticks. Not a pretty sight. Shuffle your feet for sure I was and took one threw the ankle. Do remember you can shuffle all you want it's your time. . . It's your time

That would leave a mark.

I took a fly rod to the same vicinity after spending the morning below the end of the blacktop in PINS. I didn't catch anything in the afternoon, but I had caught a small Red, a Lady Fish, and a Whiting down on PINS in the AM.

Still quite a bit of grass (and TONS of garbage) on the beach, but it was "doable."
