Made a road trip to Islamorada this past Sunday and arrived Monday eve. Fished Tuesday and Wednesday on the back country flats with good catching. Saw tarpon but none opted to bite and the bonefish bite was off almost completely. Permit bite was okay but snook, big reds, big trout, jacks and vey nice size mangrove was ON. Hitting the road tomorrow for home and hope hit the Biloxi and Louisiana casinos hoping for success on Saturday. Get that pesky weed gone from the beach before we get back!!

Went to Islamorada last summer, my 11 year od son caught a blacktip shark in the backcountry flats. He was really stoked. Hope to go back soon

Nicely done. Such a gorgeous place. I've got a buddy who lost a ton of flies to blacktips on the backside of Islamorada. If you can time it just right the tides there it can be insanity.
