Last week, I went south and fished Bird Island Basin area and then worked back north.....a few small perch, one undersized trout, and a hardhead or two on fishbites. Nothing on plastics , gold spoon or topwater. I figured it was because the water there was murky. So today was beautiful, and I went north fishing -- both sides of ICW even into CC Bay, then tried the approach to Packery, then back down to North Nighthawk. Again, no luck on artificials; did get a few frisky skipjacks on a gold spoon. So.....what's going on? Do I have to switch to live bait?

Many said fishing was slow, including myself. Talked to some guys at the marina, including a guide, and they have been having a little trouble getting good numbers.

All you can do is keep on trying....Good luck

Hit NPJ Monday afternoon - water looked great but couldn't give away a live shrimp on the trusty lemon rig .........other than to a 22 inch red. I saw a few whiting and hardheads being caught by the bottom fishermen, but nothing else.
