Going to take the camper to the beach for some r& r but i am a little worried about high tides. Do not want to wake up in the middle of the night floating in the gulf. Saw some posts about tides to the dunes. Can some one help me to conferm that that there is no super high tides the next 4 days please. Going to Port A beach.

The tides are moving from semi-diurnal to diurnal over the next few days, and there isn't much of a "low" to speak of in-between the two highs (based on a quick scan of Tony's Port A Tide Chart for the month - click the link at the top of the page to see it yourself).

That "tides to the dunes" situation of last week was a wind driven event, so you have to be aware of not only the tide predictions, but also the weather conditions. The tide "predictions" are based harmonic analysis of dozens of solar/lunar components, and they don't factor in the local weather. Having said that, the prediction can be entirely wrong in terms of water height if the winds are timed with the high or low part of the tide.

You really have to pay attention to both.

As a general rule, the area behind the bollards around Caldwell pier are pretty high up on the beach (plus the County sculpts the beach there and they push LARGE amounts of sand towards the water to maintain a very wide beach) and you should be fine with the camper there, but just keep in mind my advice about keeping an eye on the weather and wind. No amount of assurance from an internet fishing board can substitute for being there and observing the conditions - Cool that and using good ol-fashioned common sense!
