Hopefully this pic will come out. Obama made this area in NM a national monument yesterday. It is about 20 miles from my casa in NM, and one of my major fishing spots.

ZIA, I got the ABQJournal, but couldn't find any info on the new national monument you refered to. Is it the Rio Grande Canyon?

I walked on the gorge bridge about a month ago for the first time. It was one of the most breath taking experiences I've ever witnessed. Funny thing is when driving to that area you can't imagine a bridge being anywhere out there. From bottom of bridge to water 600'+. I'll see if I can load a picture.

Beautiful country, Ziacatcher! I'll never forget the 1st time I walked to the middle of that span some 20 years ago.

Taos is my favorite town west of the Mississippi. Dinner at Doc Martin's, then sitting in front of the fireplace in the Taos Inn bar and listening to Bill and Bonnie Hearne make music on a winter night . . . 'bout as close to heaven as ya can get.

There is now a brew pub about 2 miles east of the bridge. Live music and 20 beers on tap. Great place for a cold one after admiring the views. From my house I have a 360 degree view of mountains. Will be heading there soon
