Hey guys,
Well....finally made it out to PINS in my Tacoma. We made it out to the 6.7MM...woohoo..!! I was trying for 7MM since that is my lucky number but the sand was getting soft so I decided not to push it. That was a great looking spot anyways.
My little brother and his son Ethan and niece Esabia joined him. We had a blast. Using shrimp with fishbites and cut up whiting we caught a total of 3 real good size pomps, 1 28" black tip, and a small hammerhead....and tons and tons of whiting....some real good size.
We practiced CPR on all of them except for a few whiting for cut bait.
The weed was bad at first...then it soften up a bit..but by 3pm or so...it got tough again. Left about 5pm.
Zia stopped by to say hi and tell me about his trip further south...he had a great day as well. Real nice guy....
Glad to meet you, Zia....we need to fish PINS together soon.
Well...this was my official first time fishing the surf and I have to say...it was great...!! Could have done without the weeds...but oh well. You live and learn. I am definitely going to be back very soon...especially with the weather improving. I might even do an overnight thing.
Driving was great coming in as well as going out.
